With a little under two weeks to go, we are delighted to be able to share more information on what to expect on this unique occasion. The event and the Carnforth Big Jubilee Weekend will be opened at 6pm by Cllr Chris Smith.

Almost immediately we will be entertained by C & C Entertainments – a highly popular singing group providing songs across all genres. Then at 7:30pm we have 30 minutes of vocals from two local girls, Gabriella and Jasmine T – aged just 13 and 10 – they sing like seasoned pros!

CandC will then return to give us more of their great repertoire of songs before handing over to carnforthcommunitychoir at 8:40pm and they will be followed by the St John’s Hospice Choir

At around 9:35pm respresentatives from local community groups and Carnforth High School will carry a torch by relay around the school premises/field, whilst Cllr Rebecca Stretch plays a specially written musical piece called ‘Majesty’.

Then at precisely 9:45pm the Choirs will jointly sing ‘A Song for the Commenwealth’ as the torch is handed to Linda Denby , founder of the wonderful Carnforth Wombles, who will light our Beacon along with 1,500 others across the UK!

C & C will then return to the stage until the event comes to a close around 10:30pm.

Throughout the night there will be funfair rides for young and old, as well as ice cream and a variety of foods.

So, something for everyone and a memorable occasion for all the family and our town – oh and entry is free!

We hope that can join us for the first of our four days of events celebrating our Queen and our community! #PlatinumJubilee #carnforthcanparty #forqueenandcommunity
