Many of you will remember that from April until June we requested your nominations for all those people who had gone that ‘ extra mile’ to help others during the first lockdown due to COVID19.
Given how our community has always come together when needed we were not at all surprised to receive a number of worthy nominations – and we did!
You nominated 94 local heroes for the Carnforth Citizen of Merit Award. All of them are listed here.
We are all so grateful to all of our nominees for everything they did during, what turned out to be, the first three months of the pandemic and continued to do long after.
It was always the Town Council’s intention to present our award nominees with a certificate and a gift to mark their achievement and the gratitude of our local community at an event.
Sadly, because of the government restrictions we have not been able to do so! However, we are now making plans to hold an event early in the New Year, that will be fully compliant with covid restrictions. It is, after all, through the efforts of these people and many more that the Carnforth Communuty has been awarded a Covid19 Certificate of Recognition from the High Sheriff of Lancashire.
More details of that to follow but we need your help if we are going to ensure that we invite all of our winners. Please look at the list and if you are a nominee, or you know someone who is, please contact the Town Clerk Bob Bailey by the end of December with their address and contact details* by email: mailto:clerk@carnforthtowncouncil.org or telephone: 07846 256 006
