Up until midnight Sunday 26 April, Carnforth Town Council had received messages from 10 people nominating the following individuals for the CCM Award:
Liam Law – Covid 19 Support Group founder & volunteer;
Andrea Wren – Covid 19 Support Group founder & volunteer
Glen Pearson – Royal Station Hotel;
Liz Sweeney – Manager, Cove House, Silverdale;
Barbara Williams – Checkout Assistant, Tesco, Carnforth
All of these people are stars in their own right doing their bit to help others in these strange times. We will be honouring them altogether when the Coronavirus is behind us but in the meantime there are many, many more out there in and around Carnforth who are quietly going about their business helping the community.
Please spread the word and encourage your friends and contacts to nominate those unsung heroes and heroines in our community who continue selflessly to give their time and care for others often at the risk to their own health and well-being.
Do you know anyone who is a key worker? Anyone working for the NHS or in the care sector? What about your postie? Any firefighters, bin men, teachers, shop staff who are still working? There are also a large number of volunteers who have stepped forward to help others so LET’S HAVE MORE NOMINATIONS, PLEASE!
