The Carnforth Neighbourhood Plan Working Group (CNPWG) and the Town Council are delighted to announce that further funding has been awarded by Central Government to enable us to complete the neighbourhood planning process and produce a Carnforth Neighbourhood Plan.
This additional sum takes the total funding to £9,000 – the maximum that can be awarded (an additional sum can be applied for later depending on the complexity of the neighbourhood plan).
Together with the award of technical support for a housing needs assessment to be undertaken, the CNPWG and our appointed planning consultants, Troy Design, are ready to push on with developing the Carnforth Neighbourhood Plan and its policies. You can find more details on the work done to date on our dedicated Neighbourhood Planning page on the website.
Over the Summer we will be assessing our local green spaces, working with a government appointed body AECOM on the housing needs assessment and preparing our strategy for engaging further with the local community.
We aim to start consulting on the developing neighbourhood plan in September which will set out the future of our town for years to come and form part of the adopted Lancaster District Local Plan. EXCITING TIMES!
