Volunteers clean up in Crag Bank

Carnforth Town Council would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Cllr Steve Watson, Terry Allum our Maintenance Officer and everyone of the more than 20 volunteers – of all ages – of the Crag Bank Park Group who did a FANTASTIC job yesterday doing a Litter Pick & Clean up around Crag Bank.

The community spirit and local pride shone as brightly as the sunshine as they worked for two hours, filling 63 bin bags of litter, waste and weeds weighing around 500kg. People’s appreciation was evident with many passers by congratulating them on what they were doing – one lady even gave them a box of chocolates!

The group and the Town Council are grateful to the Public Realm team at Lancaster City Council who provided advice on the event and all the equipment needed as well as quickly removing the mountain of waste collected.

It was such a great event, carried out in line with government guidelines on Covid19, that others will be arranged both by our friends at Crag Bank Park Group and the Town Council. Watch this space for more information!
